Over the years, we have built custom cabinetry using many wood types, some of which are shown below. We have access to any wood type you can imagine!
The number of wood species that we use as our "run-woods" is an aspect that sets us apart from other shops. Most shops will chose two woods for their "run-woods" (oak and maple are popular choices). If the customer wants anything different, a premium, is added to the cost (sometimes as much as 25-30%). At Anvil Cabinet and Mill we have 11 "run-woods" and that number is growing. The change in price we charge is simply the change in wood cost. That makes it much more affordable to have cabinetry made out of Hickory, Birds-eye Maple, Knotty Cherry, or Birch just to name a few. Each wood species has a different set of characteristics. Ask one of our project managers the pluses and minuses of each. Why settle for only two wood choices that fit your budget when you could have many, many more options?
